A Breconshire show committee has received a cheque for £2,000 which will go towards new toilet facilities for the show.
The Lower Chapel Show Committee received the generous sum from Honddu Isaf Community Council.
The cheque was presented at the committee's recent AGM held in the Pwllgloyw Arms.
After all the matters of this year's Show had been discussed, a member of the community council, Cllr Paul Amphlett, was welcomed into the meeting where he presented the cheque to show chairman Wyndham Smout.
The funding was kindly donated after the community council held their annual auction at the Pwllgloyw Arms back in November last year. The event has become a popular evening, bringing many local people together for a thoroughly enjoyable get together. Local businesses and families showed great generosity during the event, whether through donating an item for the auction or bidding on the night.
The council was also able to donate £2,000 to St Maelog's Church in Llandefaelog.
Lower Chapel Show is a much-loved and extremely popular show held during the summer. With the support and commitment from everyone involved, the committee is always very grateful for all the donations and contributions it receives.
This years Show will be held on Saturday, August 12 2023 and is looking to be another successful day with sheep entries on the up last year and a fantastic horse and dog show - there really is something for everyone.
