One of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies is set to be performed at an iconic Mid Wales venue this weekend.

Rehearsals and preparations have been underway now for a few weeks at the Willow Globe for The Willow Globe Company’s production of Twelfth Night.

The Willow Globe Company, directed by professionals Sue Best and Philip Bowen with a cast made up of local people from all walks of life, are well known for their accessible and fun interpretations of Shakespeare.

Twelfth Night, printed in the First Folio of 1623, has become a firm favourite, a warm, funny and humane play - much talk of music and love, containing haunting songs, and ending with all-too familiar observations about the wind and the rain.

Performances will take place on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at 7pm and there will be a matinee performance on Sunday, June 9 at 3pm.

The Willow Globe Theatre is an open air community theatre in Penlanole, about four miles south of Rhayader off the A470.

The space is a scaled down, living version of the Globe in London, being a third of its size in diameter - carefully woven into an organic and spiritual theatre to create a magical and intimate space.
