Children across Powys are being encouraged to join the Summer Reading Challenge.
This year, The Reading Agency has partnered with Create, a leading arts charity, to create a challenge that celebrates kids' creativity and storytelling abilities.
To get involved you can either visit your local library to fill in the registration card or sign up online: https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
“This year’s ‘Marvellous Makers’ theme provides plenty of opportunities for children to explore their imagination and unlock their inner maker through the power of reading.”
The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children aged between four and 11 years and runs until Saturday 14 September.
Powys libraries have a variety of books available for the challenge, in English and Welsh, including picture books, quick reads, story books, information books and comic books.
The aim of the challenge is to get children aged between four and 11 years old to read six books over the summer holidays. If you sign up at your local library, you will receive a free collector's folder and can collect special stickers as you read your books. Those who complete the challenge will receive a medal and certificate, a free family swim voucher, kindly donated by Freedom Leisure, and gain entry into a prize draw.
