Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team was called out to the waterfalls area of Banana Brycheiniog on Saturday, November 16, to aid an injured walker.

The team was called out at 3:30pm to locate and rescue a male walker and his daughter following a report that he had issues with his leg and was unable to walk any further.

They had limited information on the casualty’s location although the team knew they were in the region of Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn waterfall.

The initial search team located them all on the main Four Falls Trail.

After a full check over by remote rescue medics, the man was carried out from the trail on a stretcher while all others were accompanied back to the car park.

A spokesperson for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: “We’re very grateful to a gentleman who we only know as Grant with his group of friends who did a brilliant job of moving and carrying the injured gent out of the gorge while also looking after his daughter.

“We wish the gentleman a speedy recovery and our thanks go out to all the walkers in the area who helped with info and sightings, in particular Grant’s group who did such a great job interrupting their walk to stay and assist.”

The rescue took five hours in total.
