On Saturday, October 12 at 7:30 pm, the Music in New Radnor season will get underway with a concert from The Peregrine Trio.
The concert is based around two seminal works for oboe with string trio, E J Moeran’s Fantasy Quartet and Mozart’s Quartet in F KV370.
Moeran’s 1946 Fantasy Quartet, written for the internationally celebrated oboe player Léon Goossens, is a masterpiece of pastoral writing. It also has some local significance, as the composer lived for some time in Kington where his father served at St Mary’s Church.
Mary Tolhurst, speaking for Music in New Radnor says: “This is the Peregrine Trio’s first time at Music in New Radnor and we are delighted to be hosting them.
“This will be a tremendous start to our new season and perfect for the marvellous, resonant acoustic of the community hall in New Radnor.”
