Brecon, Radnor and Cwm-Tawe's new MP David Chadwick visited Brecon Police Station's open day last weekend with his family.

Mr Chadwick said: “As a young family, we are extremely grateful to all of the stallholders, including the police, fire service, Brecon Mountain Rescue and Brecon Phoenix, for putting on such a warm and welcoming day out.

“My son was so engaged. Shows like this help children to understand the world around them - and maybe start shaping some early career plans! Thank you to our public servants for keeping us safe.”

Other stallholders included Wales Air Ambulance Charity, Powys Family Information Services and Dyfed-Powys Police’s Rural Crime Team, among many more.

Dyfed-Powys Police thanked everyone who attended.

A spokesperson for the police said: “A special thank you to all who made the day such a success, including our Police Cadets and Special Constable who volunteered their time to help out, and all our partner agencies who attended.”

Later that day, Mr Chadwick and his family visited Cwmdu Show.

“Village shows bring people together and Cwmdu's is always one of the best,” he said.

“We strongly approved of the dyed-orange sheep - a variant I had not encountered before!

“Congratulations to all of the prize winners. I enjoyed talking to people running local community projects too - a sign that rural areas are brimming with ideas and life.”
