A Nepali Ladies Night held recently at the Adelina Patti Theatre in Brecon’s Guildhall has raised £1,900 for charity.
Hosted by Sita Gaha of Paradise Salon, around 100 ladies attended the evening in the company of the guests of honour, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Powys, Ceri Havard and Mayor of Brecon, Cllr Michaela Davies.
The ladies enjoyed a Nepalese curry provided by Ek Ale of the Gurkha Corner restaurant in the town. Following a grand raffle the ladies danced the night away!
The proceeds are to be shared between charitable causes in Nepal: Kidasha, a charity which supports street children in Pokhara, Sunrise Primary School in Yanchok and Janjagrti School, as well as Brecon Mountain Rescue and Wales Air Ambulance.
The evening’s organisers - Sita Gaha, Mahadev and Harimaya Thapa, Fiona Williams, Hayley Ridge Evans and Ann Mathias - wish to thank committee members of Henderson Hall, Talybont for their support.
Further events are set to take place to boost funds.
A coffee morning will be held at the Guildhall in Brecon on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 between 10am and 12 midday. A charity evening is also booked at Zeera’s Indian restaurant in Brecon on Tuesday, October 15.
