The final Thursday of September saw the Brecknock Federation of Young Farmers Clubs hold their Annual General Meeting at Brecon Rugby Club.

County President Gethin Havard was re-elected as County President and Robert Healey re-elected as his deputy.

Outgoing Chairman Emma Rees of Llandefalle YFC handed over the Chairman’s role to Leanne Davies of Troedrhiwdalar YFC, and Raiff Devlin of Pontfaen YFC was elected as County Vice Chairman.

During Emma’s year she took part in the ‘Chairman’s Challenge’. Her first challenge was in April when she completed the Great Welsh Marathon. In June she completed the Welsh Three Peaks and in August she completed her final challenge of The Great Brecknock Cycle. Emma raised a total of £6,400 for her two charities - Brecon Mountain Rescue and Velindre Cancer Centre. The Federation would like to congratulate Emma on her achievement and support over the last 12 months.

In mid-September the Federation held the Sub Committee AGMs where Emma Jones of Erwood YFC was elected as chairman of the Fundraising and Events Committee, Deryn Evans of Builth Wells YFC was elected as Competitions Chairman and Libby Davies of Sennybridge YFC as his vice.

Ffion Havard of Sennybridge YFC was elected as the new Welsh Language Development Officer and Carys Rees of Pontfaen YFC as her Deputy.

Megan Powell of Erwood YFC was elected as chairman of the Rural Affairs Committee with Elin Protheroe as her vice.

Brodie of Sennybridge YFC was elected as chairman of the Youth Forum Committee and Craig Erwood YFC as his vice.

After seven years Shan Evans stepped down as chairman of Board of Management committee. The Federation would like to thank Shan for all her support, as she went above and beyond her role expectation. Peter Hope was elected as the new chairman and Sharon Healey as his vice.

Brecknock YFC would like to thank their main sponsors Hay & Brecon Farmers and all other sponsors for their continued support over the last 12 months. The Federation would also like to thank hudges, stewards and hosts, members, parents, and fellow supporters for their continued support and ensuring the YFC movement continues for its youth members.

The competition calendar began with Have A Go which was held on Friday evening at Cwmdu Hall - congratulations to Builth Wells YFC on winning overall.

Everyone is invited to attend the annual Harvest Festival which will be held on Sunday, October 9 2022 at St Matthew Church, Llandefalle, beginning at 6:30pm.

The Federation would like to wish all members and clubs the best of luck for the next 12 months.
