A new weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for parts of Brecon and Radnorshire.

The yellow warning is in place between 3am and 12 midday tomorrow (Thursday, January 9)

The warning covers western parts of the constituency, including Rhayader, Builth Wells and Llanwrtyd Wells.

Brecon and Llandrindod Wells are on the edge of the warning area.

The Met Office said a few centimetres of snow is possible on higher ground.

The Met Office said: “Showers, mostly of rain and sleet at low levels and near coasts, but of snow inland and over higher ground, are expected to affect the area later Wednesday night and on Thursday morning.

“With many surfaces below freezing, this will lead to some icy stretches on untreated surfaces, while a few cm of fresh snow could affect some areas, mainly places above about 100 metres.”
