A short section of the iconic Offa’s Dyke Path will close for nearly four months to allow forestry works to be carried out.

The 0.7-mile section of the footpath near Cabalfa Brook, approximately four miles north-east of Clyro, will close on March 1 and remain closed until June 30.

The closure is for public safety, allowing contractors to carry out forestry works.

A short diversion will take you on a slightly different route on the northern side of the water.

The Offa’s Dyke Path is a 177-mile-long walking trail. It is named after, and often follows, the spectacular Dyke King Offa ordered to be constructed in the 8th century, probably to divide his Kingdom of Mercia from rival kingdoms in what is now Wales.
