The second walking team from the Old Railway Line Garden Centre has completed their 15-mile sponsored walk - and brought the total funds raised to more than £3,500.

The funds will support #BeMoreFrank and the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust, two charities that hold special significance for many in the community.

On Saturday, ‘Team Two’ took on the same demanding route over Bannau Brycheiniog as their predecessors. Despite facing strong winds and relentless rain for the first seven hours of the walk, the team showed incredible perseverance and determination.

Operations Director, Katie Eckley, said: "Team Two faced exceptionally challenging weather conditions, yet we pushed through with unwavering commitment. Their dedication, combined with the generosity of our supporters, means these vital funds will make a real difference to those affected by cancer. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed."

Retail & Event Manager, Matt Lewis, added: "The community’s ongoing support has been nothing short of extraordinary. Surpassing £3,500 reflects the hard work and determination of both teams, as well as the incredible generosity of those who have sponsored us. With our Facebook and in-store auction now live, we’re hopeful we can raise even more for these important causes."

To further boost their fundraising efforts, Old Railway Line Garden Centre has launched an auction this week, both on Facebook and in-store, featuring a signed Hereford FC football and a family ticket to a game this season. The team is optimistic that this auction will attract significant interest, with all proceeds going directly to the two charities. Bids are being accepted in store or by commenting on the Facebook post on the Old Railway Line Garden Centre’s page.

This year, Old Railway Line Garden Centre is committed to making a meaningful impact by supporting #BeMoreFrank and the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust.

#BeMoreFrank raises essential funds to support families facing childhood cancer, while the Ewings Sarcoma Research Trust focuses on improving outcomes for young cancer patients.
