Cefin Campbell, Plaid Cymru's MS for Mid and West Wales, has called the Gilestone Farm project a 'fiasco', as he reacts to the news that the project is no longer going ahead, due to nesting ospreys in the area.
The Welsh Government's purchase of Gilestone Farm has been met with criticism and pushback from those in the Talybont area, with protestors flagging concerns for wildlife in the area.
Now, in a written statement, Mr Gething has announced that the plans 'can no longer be realised', due to nesting ospreys.
Cefin Campbell, Plaid Cymru Member of the Senedd for Mid & West Wales said: "This sorry tale has been a fiasco from the beginning - from questions over the purchase to a lack of meaningful local engagement. What is most frustrating is that £4.25m could have made a real difference to rural development in Mid Wales at a time when budgets are so tight."
In 2022, the Welsh Government acquired Gilestone Farm for £4.25 million 'to support the growth of the creative sector in Wales.'
