Disappointment has been expressed after dozens of Conservative General Election signs have been stolen or defaced in the area.

Approximately 30 signs promoting Conservative candidate for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, Fay Jones, have been either vandalised or stolen across the constituency in recent weeks.

Photographs appear to show some signs have been spray painted on, while others have had photographs or other election material plastered over them.

The vandalism was first noticed just over a week ago, and according to Fay Jones' office, the problem has continued to worsen.

Election agent for Fay Jones, Iain McIntosh said: “This loss not only affects our campaign's visibility but also raises concerns about targeted vandalism in our community.

“The vandalism and theft of these signs not only hinders our campaign efforts, but also impacts local supporters who have requested these signs to display on their private properties.”

“It is disheartening for us and our supporters who participate actively in the democratic process, only to have their efforts negated by such disrespectful and cowardly acts,” he added.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We have received a report and enquiries are ongoing.”
