Ystradgynlais, Ystradfellte, and Pontneddfechan Police were called out to reports of a hand grenade in the Dyfynnog area.

Detectorists discovered the grenade before contacting the police.

Following further investigation by the explosive ordnance disposal team, the grenade turned out to be a training grenade.

Police have now removed the training grenade.

A spokesperson for Ystradgynlais, Ystradfellte, and Pontneddfechan Police has said via Facebook: "Police were called to reports of a hand grenade found by detectorists in the Dyfynnog area.

"Further investigations by the explosive ordnance disposal team, revealed it to be a training grenade which has now been removed."
