FAY Jones has congratulated Liz Truss on being elected as the leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister. The Brecon and Radnorshire MP backed former Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the Tory leadership contest, but says it is now time for the party to unite.She said: “Having met with many constituents and businesses over the summer months, the immediate concern is the cost of living and energy prices. I will be writing to Ms Truss to calI upon further support.

“Moving forward, the party must now unite and work together to overcome the challenges the country is facing. “I look forward to working with the new government to ensure our rural areas are not forgotten.”
