Bryndu Caravan and Camping, near Brecon, has won multiple awards at the annual Loo of the Year Awards 2024.

For the third year running, the campsite, located in Llyswen, was awarded the National Loo of the Year Award for Wales.

They also won the Eco Toilet of the Year Award and there was an individual accolade picked up by Bryndu Caravan and Camping employee, Eva Tams-Szora.

The Loo of the Year Awards have been running for 38 years and awards are judged by unannounced inspectors visiting venues that have entered the awards.

Each venue is assessed against certain criteria including: signage, décor, fixture, fittings and overall cleanliness and management.

Speaking about the campsite’s success, Bryndu Caravan and Camping owner, Mary Gittoes told the Brecon & Radnor Express: “Last year we won the UK award, and now we have won the Wales award for the past three years.

“We are very, very proud of our business. We’ve been going since the year before Covid - that was our first year of opening, so we are very proud of what we have achieved in a short time.

“Cleanliness is a high priority for us because that’s where you can get your returning customers. Make sure that your toilet block is clean, because that’s vitally important for everyone.”

Team member Eva was awarded the UK Washroom Technician of the Year Award.

The award goes to the individual that the inspectors feel performs a high quality ambassador role for the washroom provider in terms of cleaning, appearance, attitude, commitment and efficiency.

Speaking about Eva’s award success, campsite owner Ms Gittoes added: “We’re so proud of Eva - her award is well deserved. She has an amazing work ethic and always wants the campsite spotless, right down to the very last detail.”
