After a busy summer and now firmly established as a leading pressure group calling for alternatives to large-scale onshore renewable energy projects, RE-think is turning its attention to the next phase of its campaign.
But whilst it is extremely grateful for the enormous support and generous donations received so far, the not-for-profit group says it will require more funds if it is to continue its important work.
RE-think is therefore planning to hold a Fundraising Campaign Launch on Friday September 15th at 7pm. This will take place at Alexandra Hall in Llangammarch Wells LD4 4EE.
The event, to which everyone is welcome, will include a Special Auction, with some amazing items on offer including Wales v France Rugby tickets and a Welsh Safari. There will also be a raffle, live music and dancing, along with refreshments and one free drink for everyone attending.
RE-think Chair Jenny Chryss said: “This should be a really special evening, in aid of an important cause. The tourism, environment, ecology and wildlife of our area is under threat as never before. This isn’t necessary. There are viable alternatives to the industrial-scale onshore wind developments which are being planned for Mid-Wales.
“Furthermore, experts I have spoken to believe it is perfectly possible to upgrade the grid ready for “net zero” without building a 60-mile overhead power line from Radnor Forest to Carmarthenshire through some of the most beautiful countryside that Wales has to offer.”
Tickets for the event cost £10 each and can be booked in advance.
Please visit the RE-think Facebook page for further details, or email at [email protected]. Alternatively, tickets can be bought at Llangammarch Post Office or on the door.
Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
