Powys schoolchildren were left ‘over the moon’ recently after being given a visual tour of the solar system.
Experts from the Elan Valley outreach team brought their planetarium to Hundred House Hall, where they inspired the children of Franksbridge School.
After exploring The Milky Way and zooming in to the planets, the children learnt about light pollution and dark skies.
In 2015, the Elan Valley Estate achieved International Dark Sky Park status and became the first privately owned but publicly accessible park in the world to do so.
The pupils also enjoyed learning about constellation mythology from different cultures.
The children of Franksbridge School thoroughly enjoyed learning from such enthusiastic experts, agreeing that the planetarium experience was ‘out of this world!’
