Following a very successful Sankey Evening held on Palm Sunday, April 14 at Pentref Baptist Church, Newbride on Wye, a presentation was made of the monies raised.

This took place recently at the Bracken Trust Headquarters, Cefnllys Lane, Llandrindod Wells, when Patsy Price, treasurer of the Singing Festival Committee, presented a cheque for £150 to Mrs Sue Parsons, a trustee of the Bracken Trust. Also pictured in front from left: Nelda Foster, chair of the Singing Festival Committee, and Ann Williams, manager of the Trust, together with members and friends from Pentref Baptist Chapel, Newbridge on Wye.

Mrs Parsons thanked the Singing Festival Committee for the cheque, and mentioned that at present the Trust have 270 patients, and rely on donations from organisations and individuals.

She went on to explain about the treatments and services which are provided for and are available to patients and partners from all over Powys, and sometimes just over the borders. Mrs Parsons added that some existing patients have described the Bracken Trust Headquarters as “ friendly and homely”.

At the present time the Bracken Trust is in the process of setting up ‘hubs’ in Knighton and Llanidloes. The visiting group then enjoyed being shown around the centre, and lovely large gardens by Mrs. Parsons.
