Family, friends, and pets are being encouraged to ‘reclaim the night’ this weekend by walking through Brecon, promoting safer streets for all.
The event is part of International Women’s week and will begin at 6.30pm on Saturday, 9 March outside Theatre Brycheiniog.
Attendees will walk up through the town to the Guildhall where refreshments will be prepared and speeches will be made.
People are being encouraged to bring along candles and banners.
Cllr Liz Rijnenberg said: “Please come and join us on this very short walk from Theatr Brycheiniog through Brecon town to The Guildhall where you can join us for refreshments.
“The walk is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of personal safety on our streets and is part of the Brecon Women’s Festival. Everyone is welcome so bring your family, friends, children and dogs. We will be led by a Piper and please feel free to make a noise, sing and dance on the way.” Banners and candles optional and this is a free event.”
