Rhayader and District Male Voice Choir were in fine voice on Saturday 11th February 2024. They sang at a concert in aid of The Bracken Trust and the 2024 Llanbister Show.
A fine evening was had by all as Philip Gayther compered in his usual ribtickling fashion; only once forgetting the words to one of his tales.
The choir opened with Men of Harlech and performed such classics as American Trilogy, Shenandoah and the rousing Alexanders Rag Time Band. They also sang some beautiful Welsh pieces, such as Gwahoddiad and Myfanwy. Michael Gough performed a baritone solo version of Working Man backed by the choir.
Michael Gough’s daughters, Cerys and Angharad supported the choir by singing some beautiful solo pieces. The highlight of the show being a duet of The Rose, performed by them with the backing of the choir.
Proceeds from the concert to be divided between The Bracken Trust, Llandrindod Wells and The 2024 Llanbister Show.
