This year Rhayader Male Voice Choir performed their annual concert on behalf of three local Leg Clubs based in Llandrindod Wells, Knighton and Rhayader.

Along with two extremely talented local musicians Elsie Jones and Eleri Davies from Christ College Brecon, the choir were blessed with the presence of the world renowned clarinetist Dr Linda Merrick CBE.

This was an intimate early evening concert with beautiful music matched by the wonderful sunny weather.

A touch of class was brought to the event byDr Linda Merrick CBE and director of The Northern College of Music in Manchester. She played two French classics and three Hungarian folk songs; accompanied by the choirs pianist Bethan Thomas.

Linda was followed by Elsie Jones who sang two operatic arias and then finished with the lovely old poem set to music, Go Lovely Rose.

Eleri Davies, who as well as accompanying Elsie on piano, then proved her talent with two Gershwin classics, The Man I Love and I've Got Rhythm. She played these with such aplomb leaving the audience in awe.

The choir sung their usual repertoire with the addition of two new pieces; Christus Salvatore and Bridge Over Troubled Water which were both followed by rousing applause.

The choir were proud to hold this event for the charities and were blown away by the perfection and quality of all three of their guest artistes.
