A pub in Rhayader has put an appeal online to search for two people who left without paying their food bill, totalling over £90.
The CCTV photograph, which shows a man in a black beanie hat and a woman with dyed red hair, was posted on The Lamb & Flag Inn’s Facebook page, with the inn saying that the two people were part of a family of six.
The post states: “We hate to have to, but...Does anybody know these two individuals, in a family of six. Unfortunately, they left without paying their food bill with us today totalling over £90. Woman has short burgundy dyed hair. Any information would be appreciated.” The post also shares the number plate of the car the people left in. A search on the DVLA website shows the car has an expired MOT.
Dyfed-Powys Police have been made aware of the incident.
Speaking to The Brecon and Radnor Express, owner Adam said: “The hospitality sector is under immense pressure without having to put measures in place to stop this form of theft from occurring.”
They go on to say that the support online has been ‘overwhelming’, with many people sharing and commenting to help the inn locate the individuals.
The Elan Hotel in Rhayader have also reported that the same individuals left its establishment without paying their bill.
It is not yet clear if it is a genuine mistake on the part of the individuals.
