Police have warned of the “extremely poor” road conditions on the A40 at Brecon due to Storm Bert.

Dyfed-Powys Police has urged drivers to only travel if necessary - specifically pointing out the A40 between Brecon and Sennybridge as a problem area.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Road conditions are extremely poor across the A40 (Brecon to Sennybridge) due to surface water.”

A section of the road between Brecon and Sennybridge was closed during the early hours of this morning due to a fallen tree.

Police have told drivers that if they have to make a trip out, then to slow down, plan extra time for your journey, and increase your distances.

Almost 50 flood warnings are in place across Wales due to the effects of Storm Bert.
