Brecon’s famous TARDIS rugby raffle has raised more than £4,000 for Cancer Research Wales.
Husband and wife team Lorna and Butch Keylock have been back out on the streets this year raffling rugby jerseys ahead of every Wales game in the Six Nations Championship.
Over the years they have raised thousands of pounds and this year was no exception - with a grand total of £4,005 raised for Cancer Research Wales, based in Cardiff, where all the money goes directly.
The final batch of winners gathered last Saturday afternoon in Brecon to pick up their prizes and in true Welsh style all sported wooden spoons, in good-hearted recognition of Wales’ final place in the table.
Spirits were still high and very much like the young Welsh team, the feeling was very positive with an eye on the future.
Llyr Davies and Jane were the winners of the Ireland shirts. Sian and Christine were the winners of the France jerseys and Gethin Harvard and Dai ‘The Milk’ Williams won the Italian shirts.
“Well done to you,” Butch Keylock told the Brecon & Radnor Express.
“Lorna and I thank you all very much for your tremendous support - you are simply the best.
“Good luck, good health and we hope to see you all again next season.”
