On Saturday, July 6 members of Trecastle YFC Tug of War Club travelled to Llanidloes to the Heart of Wales Sports Festival, which hosted the Welsh Tug of War Championships.
With entries in every weight category and a long and hard day of competing, they reaped the rewards with an array of medals.
Trecastle YFC were left celebrating further after achieving the ultimate prize of being awarded the trophies for the highest number of points overall in both the Ladies’ and Men's section.
This represents a huge achievement for the club, whose ages range from 16 to 28.
Special thanks must be given to the coaches for the time and effort that goes into training the teams.
The club is now looking forward to the Junior Welsh Championships which will be held this coming weekend.
The Junior Welsh Tug of War Championships will take place on Saturday, July 13 at Fedw Equestrian Centre, Trecastle.
This will be one of the last opportunities for many YFC teams to get practice in before the Royal Welsh Show.
The Welsh Tug of War Association is the governing body for tug of war in Wales.
