A team from Specsavers is set to scale the heights of Pen y Fan to raise funds for Sight Cymru, a charity dedicated to supporting people with sight loss across Wales.
The charity walk, which will take place on Sunday, January 19, will see Ebbw Vale staff members tackle the four-mile round trip to the summit of Pen y Fan, climbing more than 400 metres of elevation, with plans to complete it in three and a half hours.
Organised by lead optometrist, Rhian Price, the team at the Bethcar Street store aims to raise £500 for the local charity.
Most of the Specsavers Ebbw Vale team have volunteered their time to take part in the event.

Sight Cymru, which is headquartered in Pontypool, provides essential services and support to individuals experiencing or at risk of sight loss. It is the largest organisation of its kind in Wales, working to improve independence and quality of life for those who are sight impaired or severely sight impaired.
Founded in 1865, the charity’s work includes raising awareness, providing training, promoting accessibility products and conducting vital research to prevent avoidable sight loss.
