A brand new reenactment hobby group has set up in Wales and is looking forward to kicking off its first year of events and adventures at the beginning of 2022.

HMS Wales (Historic Military Ship of Wales) Reenactment Society has members from across Mid and South Wales.

Their aims are to portray the lives of those who served in the Royal Navy in 1805.

They aim to transport members of the public back to the Age of Sail and the time of Admiral Horatio Nelson.

Craig Harris co-founder of HMS Wales, said: “It is a fascinating period of our country’s history, we aim to educate members of the public, with our very own and unique Nelson’s Navy challenge, why not find out if you could have had what it takes to make it in Nelson’s Navy.

“We already have some events setup, with various groups and locations based in Wales, that we hope to support by increasing visitor footfall. If you have an event that you would like HMS Wales to attend, please feel free to get in touch.

“Or perhaps you are simply looking for a new hobby; and want to know more about what we do? Whether it’s the study of history, camping and travelling the country, or socialising and meeting new people, reenacting has it all.”

The choices of roles to portray, within HMS Wales, are almost endless, from the very smart red coated Royal Marines, to the various roles a Sailor would have to perform.
