As part of the National Poppy Appeal the Community Champion at the Tesco Store in Llandrindod Wells has created a special display to mark the 100 years since the end of the first World War in 1918.

Over the past few weeks Jayne Griffiths has created, as the main feature of the display, a full length dress with a bodice made out of lace and covered it in red poppies.

From now until Remembrance Day the display will be manned to sell poppies etc as we remember those who served and sacrificed themselves in conflict.

Pictured on duty at the entrance to the Llandrindod Wells store with Jayne Griffiths as she puts some of the final poppies in place are Dave Hurley, the Llandrindod Poppy organiser; Dom Hurley the Rhayader Poppy organiser;  Pauline Harper, Betty Hicks, Leah Morrey and Vicki Lowe.
