THE Tour of Britain cycling race visited Crickhowell for the first time this year. The race, which attracts some of the world's best professional cycling teams and top riders, sped through the town on its way to a hill top finish at the Blorenge near Abergavenny, known to cyclists as the Tumble. The third stage of the race had started in Newtown on Tuesday morning, September 9 with riders racing through Knighton, LLyswen and Talgarth before reaching Crickhowell that afternoon. Our photographer Peter Williams captured the excitement as the race reached Crickhowell.
