A tree has fallen down and blocked the road along the A44 from Radnor to Kington.

Cars have been stuck either side of the tree, unable to get past.

Police are urging the public to avoid all unnecessary travel as Storm Darragh brings dangerous conditions across the region.

The rare red weather warning for wind has led to a significant rise in calls reporting road obstructions and hazardous driving conditions, with several roads blocked by fallen trees and some areas experiencing flooding.

Dyfed-Powys Police Superintendent Chris Neve emphasised the importance of public safety during this severe weather event:

“The safety of the public is our top priority right now and I am urging everyone to take the warnings that have been issued seriously, to avoid unnecessary travel during this period and follow all official advice to stay safe.

“This will also help us to manage and respond to calls for our service during this very busy period.

"I would like to reassure the public, that we are working extremely closely with our partner agencies and we have robust plans in place to address any further challenges posed by this severe weather event.

"By working together and following official guidance, we can help ensure everyone’s safety.”

Roads around the area are also flooded with water, with various depths.
