Two Brecon businesses have shown their support for the Armed Forces after signing the Armed Forces Covenant this week.
Two Dogs Coffee Roasting Company and Genuine JayJays officially signed the Covenant, held at the 160th (Welsh) Brigade, Officers’ Mess Headquarters in Brecon on Friday, January 31.
Those who attended the event included Sian and John Bowen (Owners of Two Dogs Coffee), Roberta Demelo, Simon Teasdale and Adam Walker (Directors of Genuine JayJays Ltd), Tony Fish of Defence Relationship Management (DRM), the Ministry of Defence, and members of the military, including Colonel Sion Walker OBE, who is the Deputy Commander for 160th (Welsh) Brigade.
The ceremony began at 11am, featuring an informal networking session that provided attendees with the opportunity to discuss the importance of the Covenant before the official signing. The event was facilitated by DRM in partnership with the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) for Wales.
The official signing was completed by the two businesses and Colonel Walker.
Colonel Walker thanked both companies for demonstrating their commitment to the Service Community.
He said: “By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, Two Dogs Coffee Roasting Company and Genuine JayJays (Brecon) have pledged to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families, are treated with fairness and respect within the community.
“This commitment includes providing employment opportunities, supporting Reservists and enhancing community integration.
“The presence of the DRM team, who work in conjunction with RFCA Wales, underscores the significance of the Covenant in enhancing the relationship between the Armed Forces and local communities.
“This signing marks a positive step forward in fostering greater support for military personnel and their families within the community.”
