Powys County Council's Highways, Transport and Recycling Service has issued a warning about fake parking fine text messages.
Scammers have been sending text messages requesting the public to pay a parking penalty, with a link to a website to pay them.
The public are being urged to not follow the link.
A spokesperson for Powys County Council's Highways, Transport and Recycling Service has said: “Beware of FAKE parking fine text messages. These are not genuine. Please do not follow the links or provide any personal or banking details. Report towww.actionfraud.police.uk.
“Real parking fine notices are placed directly on the offending vehicles or sent from WPPP (Wales Penalty Processing Partnership) with a Powys County Council letterhead.”
