Hundreds turned out in Presteigne on Saturday, November 2 to witness a torchlight procession and firework display.

The evening started with the torchlight procession through the town which commenced at the Recycling Centre. A large group carried fire lit torches through the centre of the town to Went’s Meadow, where the fireworks took place.

The group was led by poi artist, John Bray, who continued to perform his fire act as people arrived.

All of this was followed by an impressive fireworks display, which used quieter fireworks than in previous years and was accompanied by well-fitting music.

A spokesperson for the event organisers, Sheep Music said: “Sheep Music would like to thank all our volunteers for helping to make this year's Presteigne Firework Display a huge success.

“The event was very well attended with many taking part in the torchlight procession through the town led by Presteigne's very own poi artist, John Bray.

“John continued to perform to the large crowd gathered on Wents Meadow while this year's fire sculpture, a volcano was ignited.

“This year's firework display was lower noise than previously, but no less spectacular and for the first time it was co-ordinated with music written by composer, John Hymas.

“After the fireworks there was a superb performance from Hay based band The Breaks which had everyone dancing into the night.”
