Wyeside Arts Centre will be opening its doors this winter as part of the Powys Warm Space Network.
The Builth Wells venue will open every Wednesday afternoon from November to February, between 12 midday and 4pm, for people to come and sit in the warm.
Visitors will be able to enjoy free tea, coffee and biscuits in the warm surroundings. There will also be free Wi-Fi and a wide selection of board games to play.
Wyeside’s duty manager Helen Jones, along with the help of Wyeside’s volunteers, will be handing out free hot drinks and conversation to anyone who is having a hard time this winter.
Charlotte Spencer, who is managing the project, said: “Fuel poverty is something that has unfortunately affected many of us - in the past I have had to choose between heating or eating.
“The hope with this project is to lessen that burden on those who are particularly vulnerable to the rising cost of living and tackle loneliness that people in our community may be facing.”
The drop-in at Wyeside has been made possible by funding which has been very kindly awarded by The Ashley Family Foundation.
Wyeside is inviting anyone in for a cuppa to ease the burden of the cost of living - everyone is welcome.
