Members from Trecastle YFC travelled to the Malvern Autumn Show to compete in the National YFC Cookery and Floral Finals recently

Members Meg, Isobel and Alys competed in the cookery competition. The theme of the competition was an ‘executive meal for a day at the races’.

The trio had to cook a four-course meal in an hour with just two gas stoves.

The girls did a fantastic job claiming first place, as well as the award for the best presentation. Judges commented that the presentation and taste was the standard of that of a fine dining restaurant .

Megan competed in the floral competition, and performed fantastically for her first time in a national competition.
