New research has revealed that Bannau Brycheiniog is one of the most popular locations for campervan holidays in the UK.
The study, from Select Van Leasing, looked at every national park in the country and gave each a score out of a hundred.
This comes as 73 per cent of adults report that they are opting for UK ‘staycations’ this year instead of holidays abroad.
Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park was ranked as the third most sought after destination in the UK for campervan holidays.
The park was searched for an average of 350 times each month by people looking for a holiday location.
Bannau Brycheiniog is popular among campers as an area with many scenic routes and trails, as well as South Wales’ highest mountain, Pen y Fan.
The location was only beaten in the research by the New Forest, which had 1,100 searches each month, and the Lake District, with 500 searches.
The parks were also assessed on average weather, with Bannau Brycheiniog coming in fifth with an average rainfall score of 5.7 out of ten.
The National Park was also ranked as the eighth most budget-friendly spot for a campervan holiday, with an average campervan site price of £28.
Select Van Leasing said: “The mountainous region, known for being an area of outstanding natural beauty, is a must-see if travelling to Wales.
“With endless routes and trails to be enjoyed, this spot is great for outdoorsy ramblers wanting to enjoy a scenic hike.”
