This youth hostel for sale has previously been used as a pub and sits in a mountain range.
YHA Llanddeusant, in Llangadog, is in the centre of the village and was formerly the Old Red Lion pub.
The property is thought to date back to the 1700s and is in the Black Mountain Range of the Brecon Beacons.
Llanddeusant Hostel is part of YHA’s network of more than 100 hostels, and is being sold with a preference for continuation as a YHA franchise, but with options considered for an independent hostelling business or a change of use.
Inside, the hostel offers 26 beds across five bedrooms, as well as an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with an open fireplace and a mixture of flagstone and quarry tiled floor.
Outside, there are large wooded gardens, a shed, and “outstanding” rural views, with the property being close to the Glacier Lake of Llyn y Fan Fach, which is known for being the site of the ‘Lady of the Lake’ folk tale.
The former pub is being sold by Sidney Phillips for a price of £195,000.
The agent said: “The Llanddeusant Hostel offers 26 beds, and is the former “Old Red Lion” public house sitting at the centre of the village adjacent to the church, with outstanding rural views.
“It provides well planned and easy to operate common areas with letting accommodation above.
“It has the benefit of large gardens with ample parking and is in close proximity to the Glacier Lake of Llyn y Fan Fach.”
