The Brecon and Radnor Express has existed in one form or another since 1892 and has gone through many changes, mostly for the better, in the intervening years.
The modern paper is a vibrant broadsheet that aims to reflect both the highs and the lows, the dreams and realities, and the events, politics and sporting achievements of the large community it serves.
The ‘patch’, covered by eight editions of the paper, is a huge one stretching from Crickhowell in the east to Ystradgynlais in the west and from just north of Merthyr Tydfil in the south to a point several miles into deepest Mid-Wales to the north of famous spa town, Llandrindod Wells.
In between are vast tracts of beautiful countryside - including all of the Brecon Beacons National Park - populated by people who love the Brecon and Radnor Express as much as we love producing it.
In addition to the Brecon and Radnor Express we produce many smaller, but no less important, titles which, when looked at as a whole, cater for everyone from the local farmer to those who visit our lovely area for a holiday or on business.
The titles include ‘Welcome to Mid Wales’ - a tabloid edition aimed at helping our tourists have a good time, ‘The Eating Out Guide’ which helps tourists and locals to find a nice place to eat, a local Directory which aims to put customers in touch with local businesses and Property Express which is the place to look if you are searching for property in the area.
We also produce various inserts during the year such as our 16 page full colour supplement for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and a colour, glossy, lifestyle magazine entitled ‘Vita’.
The Brecon and Radnor Express, however, remains at the core of our business and we aim to continue producing it to the high standards expected of it for many years to come.
