AFTER an excellent night at the Brecon & Radnor Express sports awards evening, with club members John Kenchington, Peter Owens and Alan Taylor all coming away with category awards, the focus now turns to the upcoming season.
Senior nets practice will go outdoors on April 23 at the Brecon Sports Association ground with both new and present players welcome – just turn up or look for further details on the club’s Facebook page.
The club has made fantastic progress over the last few years with new facilities and playing success, however new playing members are always welcome and required so if you are interested now’s the time so please show up or contact the Club on Facebook.
The first action on the field starts with a friendly away at Carmarthen Wanders on April 21.
The 1st team start their South East Wales Division One fixtures away at Abergavenny on May 4.
The second team start with the club’s first home fixture of the season against Pontypridd second team in Division 5 on the same day.
It is likely to be a challenging season for the second team with the restructured league format meaning they will be playing several first teams.
The club would like to hear from anyone looking to become a Vice President or sponsor of the Club. Individuals and companies interested should please make contact via Facebook where further details are available.
A little later in the season the Wales 70+ team return to Brecon, having enjoyed the Town and ground so much last time round, to take on Warwickshire in the County Championship on June 6.
JUNIOR SECTION
There is indoor training going on a Friday evening at Christ College up until Easter when practice will go outdoors at the Brecon Sports Association ground.
The All Stars training will be returning on Tuesday, May 14.
