GLANGRWYNEY Cricket Club have a new artificial wicket for the upcoming season.
The club continues to build and sees the introduction of the artificial wicket as a significant step towards the long-term growth of the club.
The main aim is to support the ongoing development of the club’s junior section however it will also provide a tremendous resource for all.
Club chairman Eddie Harding said: “We are extremely grateful for the financial support from both the ECB and Tesco without which this project would not have succeeded.
“Also the dedication and hard work of Robert Charlton who made it happen and not least dura-sport who provided the surface.
“Dura-sport have proved to be very knowledgeable and professional partner and laid the surface in a timely manner with great skill causing minimal disruption.”
Glangrwyney CC will again this year field two senior teams in division one and four of the Marches cricket league.
We welcome new and old players alike and the two teams along with regular friendly teams ensure all levels of cricketers will find fun and friendly cricket with a competitive edge.
Glangrwyney cricket club are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion across all areas of the club from those playing the game to volunteers and spectators alike.
Senior training commenced this week and takes place at the ground from 6pm every Tuesday.
Our junior training starts on Monday, April 29 also at 6pm.
We will again be running the hugely successful All Stars program.
All Stars Cricket is the England and Wales Cricket Board’s entry level participation programme aimed at providing children, boys and girls aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket.
Last year our All Stars was really well received by both children and parents and we look forward to building on this.
From the April 29 we will run two taster sessions for our All Stars prior to the official start of the program.
