AFTER many years of trying Crickhowell can now safely say that they are the Gwent Central Division one League Champions.
Ever since relegation from the Gwent County leagues in 2008 it has been an ongoing ambition of the club to rebuild and bounce back.
Under the stewardship of first team manager Matthew Stephens the club have once again rejoined the Ranks of Gwent County. Club chairman, Huw Morgans said: "what a superb culmination of everyone’s efforts, we as a club owe a huge debt of gratitude to Matthew for his commitment and drive In pushing the club towards winning the league and promotion. There are numerous people who have played a key role in this years success and I would like to thank all involved for their hard work and commitment to the cause."
Crickhowell have the opportunity to achieve an historic unbeaten season if they are able to win or draw their final league game of the season at home v local rivals Gilwern.
The match takes place on Wednesday April 27 at Gilwern with kick off at 6pm.
The final mention must go to Oliver Window, MD of Select Security for their super support and sponsorship over the last few years, there can no doubt that this has played an enormous part in the clubs recent success.
Crickhowell are also still competing on a number of cup fronts and both the first team and the reserve team could achieve further successes making this already great season even greater.
