Knighton Town and Kington Town served-up an entertaining local derby on Friday night at Bryn-y-Castell as the visitors prevailed 2-1 in their pre-season clash.
It was the Radnor Robins who broke the deadlock in the opening minute when Callum Stead latched in to a well-timed pass before sliding the ball past visiting keeper Liam Griffiths.
Knighton Town came close to doubling their lead in the 33rd minute when striker Taylor Wozencraft saw his 20-yard effort acrobatically turned over the crossbar by Griffiths.
Kington Town levelled the scores eight minutes before the interval when Sam Davies fired home past Nick Cadwallader in the home goal after the Knighton Town defence failed to clear the ball from their penalty area.
Luke Winter came close to putting the Yellows ahead for the first time but saw his 53rd minute shot from the edge of the penalty area turned over the crossbar by Cadwallader.
The Radnor Robins nearly regained their lead 10 minutes later when Wozencraft saw his close-range effort kept out by Griffiths.
The decisive goal arrived in the 67th minute when Davies netted his second of the evening by arrowing a 25-yard drive into the top corner of the net after the hosts failed to clear a quick break by the Mill Street outfit.
