KNIGHTON Town are four points clear at the top of the Spar Mid Wales league first division after a massive 2-1 home success against title rivals, Penrhyncoch.
A late own goal sent the points Knighton’s way as Penrhyn slipped to their first league defeat of the season although they do have two games in hand on Knighton. Connor Bird had handed Knighton an early lead which was cancelled out by Nathan Warren’s second half header.
Llandrindod Wells picked up a welcome three points with a 3-1 victory over Aberaeron on The Broadway. The visitors were ahead inside the first minute through Gareth Severs but Shaun Nicholls squared for Robbie Nicholls to level. Robbie Nicholls then grabbed his second after Elliot Williams had been denied and Chris Murphy volleyed a third goal for the Spa side after good link up play between Williams and Joel Layton.
Llanidloes Town are level on points with Llandrindod following a big 6-2 win at Montgomery Town. Charlie Proctor completed a hat-trick for The Daffs whose other goals came from Rhys Evans (2) and Barry Haralambous with Lee Jones and Paul Evans replying.
Carno, who are third in the table, came from behind to win 4-2 at Tywyn Bryncrug with goals from Ashley Owen, Peter Rees, Andy Evans and Greg Brown while Llanrhaeadr also came from a goal down to triumph 3-2 at Bow Street. Tomos Willaims opened the scoring for Street, Wayne Austin headed Llanrhaeadr level and Gary Meredith then netted twice for the Tanat Valley side.
Waterloo Rovers and Machynlleth drew 3-3 with Dom Joseph, Andrew Gwilt and Chris Proctor netting for Rovers and a fit again Richie Evans (2) and Harry Holt for Machynlleth.
