KNIGHTON Town are top of the Spar Mid Wales League first division following a 2-1 victory at Waterloo Rovers.
The Radnor Robins extended their unbeaten run to eleven to go a point of Penrhyncoch and put them in good heart for Saturday’s big clash with the former leaders.
In the only first division game to beat the weather, The Robins found themselves trailing but two goals from mark Jones, before half-time, turned the tables. Jones hit an immediate equaliser with a first time effort from all of 40 yards and ten struck again with a deflected strike after good work in the box.
The Waterloo ‘keeper denied Jones a first half hat-trick, turning his free-kick onto the post, while after the break, Sam Williams, Ollie Richards and Jones squandered further chances while Williams saw an effort ruled out for off-side.
The Division Two games involving Builth Wells, Newbridge, Penybont, Presteigne and Radnor Valley were all postponed as was Hay St Marys’ Central Wales Cup clash at Aberystwyth University and the entire Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) programme.
