Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells and Radnor Valley will face new opposition in next season’s Ardal League North East after the composition of the Tier Three Leagues was announced last week.

The three local sides will no longer have to play Penrhyncoch, who were promoted to the JD Cymru North as League Champions while Welshpool Town and Llanrhaeadr are both relegated.

Instead our local representatives will face Llanidloes Town and Chirk AAA, who were relegated from the JD Cymru North, Kerry who step up as MMP Central Wales League (South) Champions and Brickfield Rangers who have been moved from the Ardal North West where they finished seventh last season.

The league ran with just 15 sides in the last campaign after Barmouth withdrew on the eve of the season.

Brecon Corries will also face new blood in the Ardal League South East with Trethomas Bluebirds and Newport City having been promoted to the JD Cymru South) while Hay St Marys and Lliswerry are relegated. Replacing them are Abergavenny Town and Abertillery Bluebirds who come down from the JD Cymru South and  Croesyceiliog and Newport Corinthians who gained promotion from the Gwent Premier League.

Canton are also included in the South East division having been moved from the South West League with Aberbargoed Buds having withdrawn from the Ardal League.

The Ardal Leagues are a football league in Wales. The word "ardal" translates as "district" in English, with Wales split into four regions at this level. They have clubs with amateur/semi-professional status and sit at the third level of the Welsh football league system.

The league is split into two leagues, covering North and South Wales. The winners of each league are promoted to either the Cymru North or the Cymru South as long as they meet the FAW's tier 2 certification criteria.
