BUILTH WELLS FC
Dylan McPhee is the new manager of Builth Wells FC who will play in the Spar Mid Wales League first division next season.
The former Rhayader Town player-manager will move to The Lant Field following two seasons as assistant boss to Graham Evans at Caersws. McPhee will take over from Chris Jones who guided Builth to the second division title and promotion but is stepping away from management to spend more time promoting the club off the field.
Jason Samuel has been named as assistant manager.
McPhee, among others, helped resurrect Rhayader Town after the clubs demise following their relegation from the then League of Wales taking them from the Mid Wales League (South) through to the Cymru Alliance.
In nine seasons in charge of The Red Kites, McPhee led Rhayader to two Spar Mid Wales League first division titles as well as one second placed finish and a number of seasons in the Cymru Alliance..
Jason Samuel also has a wealth of experience having previously managed Builth as well as Newbridge, Rhayader and Knnighton Town.
Builth chairman, Graham Samuel said: “We, at the club, are excited about Dylan coming to us.
“Both him and Jason are two of the brightest and most sought after young managers locally.
They will inherit a nucleus of a squad and it will be up to them if they wish to bring players in”.
The appointment is no real surprise with McPhee now living in Builth where he also plays cricket for the town’s first team and was named Brecon & Radnor Veteran Sports Personality of the Year after scoring two double centuries last season.
