LONG travelling distances have been blamed for Brecon Northcote’s withdrawal from the MMP Mid Wales League Division Two.
The Stags set the Mid Wales League second division alight last season finishing third in their first season after stepping up from the recreational Mid Wales South League in the club’s fourth year in senior football.
However Northcote lost a number of players over the summer and have suffered some heavy defeats in the opening weeks of the season and failed to win any of their first five fixtures.
The decision to drop out means the club will now concentrate its resources, at senior level, on what was its reserve team which is currently three places from the bottom, with one win and four losses, in the Watson Financial Mid Wales South League.
