The winners’ competition was held on a recent Saturday at Cradoc Golf Club.
This competition is when all members who have won a trophy this season compete for the overall winner's title.
With the title comes a very valuable and useful prize - a parking space! This makes the competition popular and fiercely fought.
Over the season, Janice Williams has won the most trophies. Next year’s captain, Diane Davies, is in excellent form and came a very close second. Kathy Dobbs and Mags Jones are always a threat, and this year’s champion, Steph Jenkins, was also competing. Add a few dark horses to the mix, and it made for an interesting competition where the determination was great. However, the overall winner this year was Sarah Parker, who won the ladies' parking spot.
The winner of the men’s competition, with an excellent 39 points, was Tomos Griffin.
When the day’s golf was over, the ladies and men sat down to a very tasty buffet provided by Perry at his Fairway Restaurant. This was much needed and certainly appreciated by the members.
The evening ended with all cup winners being presented with their trophies.
This brings an end to the summer season at Cradoc, but the ladies will continue to play twice a week in winter fayre competitions.
