It’s not just Judo that Team GB have been successful in with medals also flying in from cycling to sailing, and athletics to badminton.

There has been a surge of interest in many sports, including cycling since the success of in Rio and Anne Adams-King, CEO of Welsh Cycling said: "We have had more interest over the last few weeks.

We put on some free track cycling taster sessions and over 100 young people attended and we’ve got a waiting list for more to have a go. We also have a Summer of Cycling campaign with session running in clubs throughout Wales."

The Bulls Cycling Club in Builth Wells is running a Go Ride Session on Thursday, August 25 at the Fforest Fields between 6.15pm and 7.30pm, where beginners can have a go at mountain biking.

Matt James, senior sports development officer said: "South Powys is blessed with a great variety of excellent sports clubs, so no matter what Olympic sport has captured your imagination, you should be able to find a local opportunity in Brecon and Radnor.

"Our sport and physical activity agenda is ultimately about getting people ’hooked on sport for life’ because of the many health, social and economic related benefits.

"However, we’ve always got an eye out for potential high performers, and hopefully the success of Team GB will have inspired another Natalie Powell or Rob Davies from Powys."
